SCRIPTURE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.\u00a0(Ephesians 5:6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEVOTIONAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must increase the value we put on our words\u2014every word, all the time\u2014because God does. He hates empty, fruitless words. This verse says that when we just talk a bunch of worthless, useless talk, we are actually in disobedience! We are disobeying His mandate to be fruitful, multiply, and take dominion with our words. Instead, we are wasting our time and our authority talking about things that do not matter. Again and again throughout the Bible, we are seeing how God takes every word we say very seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our words are spirit, and they are going to do something. When our words line up with His Word, they are not only spirit, but they are also filled with abundant and eternal life. When we say something vain or empty, however, our words are a mockery of the spiritual position and authority Jesus died to give us. Your speaking will never bring Heaven to Earth or cause God\u2019s kingdom to come.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stay focused on God\u2019s Word. The Bible tells us to meditate on God\u2019s Word day and night. If you do this you will recognize vain talk very quickly. The light of God\u2019s Word exposes the works of darkness. The Word of God will also cleanse your heart and fill it with truth and increase your faith. Then, whenever you speak you will expect what you say to come to pass, and if you are saying something you don\u2019t want to happen you will stop yourself and repent immediately. You will cancel those harmful words and release the truth and goodness of God instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Father, I repent of vain words that I have spoken and thank You for Your Word that cleanses my heart and my words. I decree that from now on my words will be in agreement with Your Word and Your will, and I will be fruitful, multiply, and take dominion with my words. In Jesus\u2019 Name, Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
