{"id":1545,"date":"2020-02-17T04:50:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T04:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devotions.billwinston.org\/?p=1545"},"modified":"2020-02-10T04:54:54","modified_gmt":"2020-02-10T04:54:54","slug":"taming-the-tongue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devotions.billwinston.org\/es\/taming-the-tongue\/","title":{"rendered":"Taming the Tongue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SCRIPTURE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If any man\namong you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his\nown heart, this man\u2019s religion&nbsp;<em>is<\/em>&nbsp;vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(James\n1:26)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DEVOTIONAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not bridle your tongue and say any\nold thing, it will deposit in your heart and eventually come out again\u2014and you\nwill have what you say. Every time you say or hear something, deposits are made\nin your heart. When pressure comes, you instinctively draw from that treasure\nor deposit and end up producing more of the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Death and life are truly in the power of the\ntongue. Following are confessions that bring life:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of saying, I can\u2019t afford that,<br>I will say: With God all things are possible.<br>Instead of saying, I\u2019m sick,<br>I will say: By His stripes, I am healed.<br>Instead of saying, I\u2019m tired,<br>I will say: The joy of the Lord is my strength.<br>Instead of saying: I don\u2019t know how to do that,<br>I will say: God teaches me to prosper.<br>Instead of saying, I\u2019m lonely,<br>I will say: God said He\u2019ll never leave me or forsake me.<br>Instead of saying, I\u2019m barren,<br>I will say: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, <br>but God will deliver me out of them all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PRAYER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear God, I choose to speak words that align\nwith Your Word.
