SCRIPTURE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.\u00a0And Abram\u00a0was\u00a0very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. (Genesis 13:1\u20132<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEVOTIONAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon there developed strife between Abram\u2019s herdsmen and Lot\u2019s herdsmen, and the two agreed to go their separate ways. Lot chose to go and live near a place called Sodom. He was soon taken captive by invading armies. Abram heard about it, and went to rescue Lot and the people and their goods. He defeated the invading armies, took the spoil (wealth), and brought it back with the people and their possessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Abram returned, he met Melchizedek, who was a king and a priest\u2014and he blessed Abram (see Genesis 14:19\u201320). Abram, who was not under the law, gave Melchizedek tithes of all. Notice, God was the one who gave Abram the victory and Abram gave the tithe to Melchizedek, who was God\u2019s representative. Abraham is called the father of the faithful, meaning that we should follow his example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear God, like faithful Abraham, I will return the tithe on my increase to You. And, I believe You will bless me with wisdom, peace, provision, and protection. In Jesus\u2019 Name, Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
