The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
(Ephesians 1:18-19) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devotion: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing from last week\u2019s devotion in Ephesians, chapter one, let\u2019s look again at Paul\u2019s prayer, this time in the Message version:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ask\u2014ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory\u2014to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him\u2014endless energy, boundless strength!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a promise! \u201cA glorious way of life He has for His followers\u201d\u2014We call this living by faith in the kingdom of God, not just when we get to heaven, but here and now. God has a wonderful plan and purpose for your life. His calling is greater than the life you may have already mapped out for yourself because His great power is at work in those who place their trust in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, pray for yourself Paul\u2019s prayer above. Substitute the word \u201cme\u201d where it says \u201cyou\u201d and \u201cmy\u201d in place of \u201cyour\u201d\u2014and watch God answer with \u201cutter extravagance\u201d as His mighty power works in you! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
