{"id":610,"date":"2019-12-02T09:03:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T09:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devotions.billwinston.org\/?p=610"},"modified":"2019-12-10T22:50:24","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T22:50:24","slug":"protection-for-your-finances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devotions.billwinston.org\/es\/protection-for-your-finances\/","title":{"rendered":"Protection for Your Finances"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SCRIPTURE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge\u2026\n(Hosea 4:6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DEVOTIONAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nis a profound truth in the book of Hosea. It reads, \u201cMy people are destroyed for lack of knowledge\u2026\u201d (Hosea 4:6).\nThere are many Christians who do not enjoy the blessings that are available to\nthem merely because they do not tithe. Over the years, I have observed that\nthere are people in the Church, from the newly born-again believers to the\nfolks who have been in church for years, even ministers who do not tithe or are\nnot faithful in their giving. These people seem to be the same ones who are\nconstantly having financial problems or are trying to <em>\u201cmake ends meet.\u201d <\/em>Almost\nevery time, the root of the problem can be traced back to the area of tithing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I define the tithe as ten percent (10%) of all\nlegal and legitimate (justified in scripture) financial increase. The tithe\nliterally means \u201cthe tenth portion.\u201d That portion belongs to the Lord, and He\ntrusts the Christian to bring it to Him. It is something you return to God,\nsuch as returning a rental car when you are finished using it. The car does not\nbelong to you. It was never yours, only yours to use. God enables us to work a\njob, have a business, or come into an inheritance of which He has already\ncounted out ten percent as belonging to Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many blessings that result from tithing\nsuch as protection, revelation, wisdom, miracles, strength, and success in\nlife. Tithing is a basic Bible principle given by God, and when understood and\nacted upon in faith, it will bring great rewards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PRAYER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear\nGod, all I have belongs to you. I thank You that I have the privilege of giving\nback to you a portion of what You\u2019ve given to me, my tithe.
