SCRIPTURE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But\nwe know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; knowing\nthis, that the law is not made for a righteous man\u2026 (1 Timothy 1:8\u20139)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEVOTIONAL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tithing\nis for the believer today. However, it is not to be done by the works of the\nlaw, but by faith. Scripture tells us, \u201cKnowing this, that the law is not made\nfor a righteous man\u2026\u201d (1 Timothy 1:8). One of the reasons God chose Abram\n(Abraham) was because he would teach his children (Genesis 18:19). Abraham\ntaught his family the things God taught him, which we can clearly see in the\nlife of Jacob who said to God, \u201cAnd of all that thou shalt give me I will\nsurely give the tenth (tithe) unto thee\u201d (Genesis 28:22). There is some dispute\namong theologians whether this is referring to the tithe or an additional\noffering. The point is Jacob knew about the tithe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nsee the evidence of tithing even in the time Jesus walked the earth. \u201cBut woe\nunto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and\npass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to\nleave the other undone\u201d (Luke 11:42). Notice, Jesus told them not to leave the\nother undone. Jesus was saying don\u2019t stop tithing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ntithe acknowledges God as the Sovereign God, the \u201cI Am,\u201d God as person,\neternal, self-sufficient, and self-contained. It says that we are stewards over\nthis earth and we are under His Lordship. A steward exercises all the\nprivileges of ownership, but is not the owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nis ironic that one of the main reasons some church folks don\u2019t tithe is because\nof the fear of not having enough. However, if they will tithe (by faith), and\nconnect up to God\u2019s Word (the Covenant), they will always have enough. He will\nsee to it. One of His names is El Shaddai<\/em>, which means the Breasty\nOne<\/em> who nourishes and supplies, the God who is all-bountiful and\nall-sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My\nfriend, are you ready to trust your all-sufficient God to meet all of your\nneeds today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear\nGod, I praise You as the all-sufficient God who will meet every need I have. I\nam a tither and I receive all of the benefits of tithing in my life and my\nhousehold. I do not fear not having enough because I know that Your Word is\ntrue, and by faith, I will obey it in my giving of tithes and offerings. In\nJesus\u2019 Name, Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
