SCRIPTURE:

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17)

DEVOTIONAL:

The Bible says in Romans 5:17 that “…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” So if you receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness you will reign.

I want to point out that righteousness is not the “goody-goody” way you behave. Righteousness is the life and nature of God that comes into our lives when we are born again bringing every Believer into the “God Class.” In other words, there is no sense of inferiority, no sense of condemnation, no guilt, no shame, and no sense of lack. All that goes away and we are truly “new creatures.” The Bible says, “Awake to righteousness, and sin not…” (1 Corinthians 15:34).

Look at the fact that we are Abraham’s seed:  “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ” (Galatians 3:13–14, 16).

The promises of God (which include favor) are not only for Abraham, but also for Abraham and his seed (us). “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). That means you are going to have to believe it and act on it before you see it manifest in your life.

PRAYER:

Dear God, thank you that through Christ, You have made me to be Abraham’s seed. I believe I receive all of Your good promises including favor. I walk in the abundance of Your grace and the gift of Your righteousness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
