The Gospel of the Kingdom Is for Everyone
SCRIPTURE:
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. (Luke 10:14)
DEVOTIONAL:
We can learn something today from the story of the “good Samaritan” (see Luke 10:30–37)) about how Jesus wants us to interact with people we don’t like or who don’t like us. We might think, “Who cares if they’re saved or not. They did this or that to me.” But friend, the Gospel of the Kingdom of God is for everyone. Jesus preached the Kingdom of God to everyone who would hear and believe,
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:14–15
Jesus called people to repent—to change their ways and turn to God. Not only did He want to deliver them from their sin and give them eternal life, but God had planned a wonderful destiny for each of them, and for you and me today.
PRAYER:
Dear Father, I am grateful for the blessing of eternal life. I understand this comes with the privilege of telling others—even those I don’t like—about the Gospel of the Kingdom. Help me to be faithful! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
