SCRIPTURE:

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]. (Genesis 12:2 AMPC)

DEVOTIONAL:

In Exodus, chapter 12, we read that God wants His people out of bondage. He spoke to Moses and told him that it is time to take His people out from under the bondage of slavery. God is going to deliver His people. In verses 34–36, we see that God gave His people favor in the sight of the Egyptians:

“And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.”

Spoiled means to take everything they had. Understand what God said when He called Abraham and his descendants to be “heirs of the world.” It means to inherit this whole world. God wants to take the wealth of the sinner and put it into the hands of His people.

Our theme scripture verse says, “I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors].” You receive the favor of God in your life when your heart, words, and actions line up with the Word of God. However, you have to appropriate it by faith. You have to believe the Word of God.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, thank you that Your divine favor flows in and through every area of my life. I pray that my heart, my words, and my actions continuously line up with Your Word. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
