SCRIPTURE:

(as it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17)

DEVOTIONAL:

We are made to walk just like God, by faith and not by sight. We’re made to talk like God, “calling those things that be not as though they were.” We’re made to see just like God, looking not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen.

We also are made to think just like God. In the natural, that just isn’t possible, as it says in Isaiah 55:8–9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” But once we’re born again, God wants us to come on back up and think like He does.

That’s strong stuff, but we’ve got to do it. You can’t keep thinking, “I’m from Alabama” or “I’m from Iowa.” That’s just your body talking. Where you are from now is from God!

PRAYER:

Dear God, thank you that I am made in your image and born again into Your kingdom. I walk, I talk, I see, and I think like You—by faith! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
