Your Need for Provision Must Be Settled
SCRIPTURE:
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2 NIV)
DEVOTIONAL:
As I said, everyone comes into the Kingdom of God with an assignment. In Luke chapter 5, Peter’s catch revealed the true assignment God had for him from the beginning of time. Peter was a professional fisherman, but his true assignment was to be a fisher of men (Luke 5:10). Peter didn’t catch this revelation, however, until his need for provision was settled. Like Peter, you were never meant to carry out your assignment and go after provision at the same time. In other words, many are working a job not because it’s their assignment but because they need provision…money!
Romans 11:29 says, “the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. This means that God does not change His mind about what He has called you to be and to do. He gives certain gifts and talents to specific individuals for specific Kingdom assignments in their generation. They are without repentance.
Until a person knows why God put them on this earth, they will wander aimlessly, being driven mostly by the need for provision.
PRAYER:
Father, thank you for the gifts and talents You have given me to fulfill Your divine assignments in my life and on the earth. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
