SCRIPTURE:

Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine (Proverbs 3:9–10)

DEVOTIONAL:

There are many blessings that result from tithing such as protection, revelation, wisdom, miracles, strength, and success in life.

The tithe is often referred to as the tenth of your increase. That tells us that the tithe must be separated from our own possessions. As soon as you receive your income, whether it is a welfare check, a paycheck, or profit from the sale of property, you must separate the tithe. It should be brought into the house of God, and placed into God’s service.

It is not good practice to put the tithe in a place where it would be available to you, if needed for any unforeseen emergency. You are to bring it to God; then He gets involved to make sure all your needs are met. Some folk live most of their lives never having enough, living without God’s blessing on their finances, simply because they don’t tithe. God uses the tithe to re-train or renew our minds. Tithing keeps us pointed in the right direction toward God, who is our Source.

God’s desire is to prosper us in every area—spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and financially. Tithing gives Him a channel or opens the door for those blessings to flow.

PRAYER:

Dear God, You are my Source and I honor You with the tithe of my increase. Thank you for prospering me in every area—spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and financially. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
