SCRIPTURE:

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:35–36)

DEVOTIONAL:

We have to understand the promises of God with our hearts. Our minds just can’t get around them. Our minds are too small and the promises are too big.

One promise the mind (that’s not renewed) has a hard time understanding is that you can have what you say. We can never forget that basic faith scripture in Mark 11:23–24, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

That’s about the best promise you could have. You do the saying; you do the believing, and God brings it to pass.

PRAYER:

Dear God, I understand that my mind cannot receive Your promises and repent of trying to make things happen through human intellect. Flood my heart with the God-kind of faith that when I say and believe Your promises in my heart, you will bring them to pass! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
