SCRIPTURE:

For one who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to people but to God; for no one understands him or catches his meaning, but by the Spirit he speaks mysteries [secret truths, hidden things]. (1 Corinthians 14:2 AMP).

DEVOTIONAL:

God’s wisdom is also available to you by praying in tongues. In 1 Corinthians, chapter 14, it says, “Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (verses 1–2).

What are mysteries? They are hidden truths. When you pray in tongues you speak in mysteries. People don’t understand the mysteries of God because these mysteries operate much above the normal intellectual ability of men. “Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful” (verses 13–14).

You can pray in an unknown tongue and converse with God. There is an answer to every problem.

PRAYER:

Dear God, thank you for Your heavenly prayer language that I may access Your wisdom by praying without my human understanding those things which are known only by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
