Righteousness—The Precursor to Receiving from God
SCRIPTURE:
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21 MEV)
DEVOTIONAL:
God is restoring righteousness. One of the reasons why Jesus came is to restore us to our former state. But from the beginning until the present day, satan has always tried to separate us from our Creator and His original plan.
Satan’s strategy now is to keep us ignorant, keep us in unbelief, keep us religious, keep us sin conscious, which has to do with the condemned state that Adam fell into when he sinned in the Garden. God came looking for Adam, who went and hid himself from God.
That’s what happens when sin consciousness is operating; people cannot receive from God as they should. Sin consciousness keeps us in bondage and fear with an inferiority complex. In other words, instead of feeling like we rule over everything, it seems like things are ruling over us, such as weed, drugs, alcohol, pornography, and every evil practice known to man.
The price for sin has already been paid through Jesus, but the devil wants us to think we have to pay it again. He brings sickness, poverty, and brokenness to people who say, “I’m suffering for the Lord.” But, you’re not suffering for the Lord. The devil’s trying to kill you! He wants to keep us working in his system and getting no benefits out of it.
Are you ready to come out of the devil’s system and take your place in God’s kingdom?
PRAYER:
Dear God, thank you that Jesus paid the price for me to have the righteousness of God through believing and receiving what Jesus did for me. I am free from sickness, poverty, and brokenness and am taking the place of dominion that You intended for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
