Scripture:

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
(1 John 2:20)

Devotion:

In this epistle, the apostle John is speaking to believers about the challenges they will face in the end times. Many, being deceived by satan, had left their faith and rejected Jesus. “But,” John says, “You have an unction from the Holy One and know all things.” Because you and I are able to discern the truth by the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can be confident that we will stand our ground, staying faithful and true to our Lord.

Bringing this same principle into our daily walk, we can be confident that we hear God’s voice regarding important decisions . . . Have you been wondering what to do about a situation in your life? Major life decisions like whether to move to another state? Should you get married? What car to buy or how to prepare for that dream job interview?

You don’t have to rely on your own intellect to figure out the direction you should take. The answers to the questions on your mind are already available down on the inside of your spirit. Submit your fears, doubts and uncertainty to the Holy Spirit, believing that you will “know all things” that you need to know to take possession of God’s promises.

Prayer:

Lord, I thank you for Your Spirit that dwells in me and tells me of things to come. I submit to You right now my concern (name your need) and believe that I hear Your voice clearly and accurately. I know all things that I need to know related to my situation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
