Scripture:

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(Romans 12:2)

Devotion:

Have you tried one thing and another . . . only to fail each time? Do you wonder why, after working so hard to make it happen, something just didn’t work? It could be because you have been “conforming to this world” instead of living God’s kingdom way.

If you are a Christian, God has called you according to His plan and purposes. He will not bless what you do outside of His will. You may be asking, “How can I know God’s will for me?” Romans 12:2 promises that we can know the will of God and that His will is “good and acceptable, and perfect.”

As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are to renew our minds according to His Word. The world says you’re sick, but God’s Word says you’re healed by the stripes of Jesus. The world says you’re broke, but God’s Word says that He provides for all of your needs, and the world says borrow, borrow, borrow until you are buried in debt, but God’s Word says, owe no man anything but to love him.

Friend, you have a choice . . . Will you conform to what “everybody else is doing” or renew your mind to agree with God’s ways—and walk in His perfect will for your life?

Prayer:

Lord, I thank You that I have a renewed mind and I am transformed from worldly thinking to kingdom thinking. I pray that I will boldly and consistently choose Your will and Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
