SCRIPTURE:

During the forty days after he (Jesus) suffered and died, he appeared to the apostles from time to time… And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:1–4 NLT)

DEVOTIONAL:

Why did Jesus talk to them about the Kingdom?  Because the apostles and disciples who would later follow Him were to continue preaching this message after Jesus was taken back up into Heaven.

The apostle Paul taught about the Kingdom of God, “And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God” (Acts 19:8).

The Kingdom of God was the disciples’ main message, and God confirmed it by miracles, signs and wonders. Through this message, the Early Church “turned the world upside down” in their day, and it’s the same message for you and me, and all the Church to be the world changers of our day, no matter our denomination or ministry affiliation. We are still living in the Church age and we must finish Jesus’ work by demonstrating the gospel of the Kingdom of God. We must fulfill our God-given, Kingdom assignments wherever our King sends us.

PRAYER:

Father, I am a modern-day disciple of Christ and I receive my call to share the message of the Kingdom of God in my generation and with those I meet every day. Holy Spirit, equip me to be a world changer. Help me to walk in Your anointing and wisdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
