SCRIPTURE:

A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow! (John 10:10 TPT)

DEVOTIONAL:

The kingdom of God was the Father’s original plan for mankind. In fact, to this day, it continues to be what every person longs for here on Earth, whether they know it or not. Most people desire to live under a government that provides peace, purpose, prosperity, security, and everything necessary for a productive life. Well, this describes the kingdom or government of God that existed in Eden.

When mankind fell because of Adam’s treason, they were put out of the garden of Eden and the kingdom was lost. Jesus, the Son of God, whom Paul called the last Adam, came to reestablish this heavenly government on Earth and to reconnect mankind with the original power and provision he had before the Fall. This reconnection first happens in the heart of mankind, and eventually flows outward to reach the world.

In the kingdom all authority flows from the King, whose Word is supreme. The King is obligated to care for and protect it’s citizens. Their well-being and welfare is a reflection on the King himself. When we are divinely positioned, we are divinely protected. The Scriptures even tell us that Jesus, our King, is at the right hand of God making intercession for us (Romans 8:34).

PRAYER:

Dear God, I believe Jesus was crucified and rose again. He took the punishment for my sins and gave me abundant life on Earth and eternal life forever with Him. I receive Him in my heart and  life as my Savior, Lord and King! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
