Scripture:

In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth.
(Genesis 1:1 AMP)

Devotion:

In the beginning, the earth was void and without form as God began His work of creation. He had a big job before Him, but it was an easy task for God. How did He create the sun, moon and stars . . . the land, with its lush vegetation, the seas and all of His magnificent creation?

“God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light” (verse 3 MEV). Then He named the light “day” and the darkness “night.” God used the same SOP (standard operating procedure) for each consecutive creation. Do you know that you were made in the image of God, including the ability to create with your words?

Jesus is our example. When He said, “Be healed” to the leper, disease had to flee and the man was made whole. As we learned in yesterday’s devotional, we are called to do the works of Jesus. How? With our faith and our words! Build up your faith by studying God’s Word and praying in the Holy Spirit. As you fill your heart with faith and God’s Word, you will be able to “create” what you want to come to pass. You won’t have to make something happen; the overflow of God’s Word and Spirit from your heart will do the work!

Prayer:

Lord, I pray You will help me to be disciplined to spend daily time with You—in Your Word and prayer—so, that I can effectively use the creative anointing You’ve placed in me as I (lay hands on the sick, develop a new procedure at work—name the area in which you want to be creative: ministry, business, etc.) In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
